Description
Stereoview of the beach at Petoskey, MI. At the wharf in the middle distance lie small two-masted and one-masted boats alongside several wooden waterfront buildings. In the foreground are a series of lumber walkways. Along the beach are a series of wooden cribs filled with stone.
Notes
The image suggests the possibility that the construction in the foreground was in preparation for the arrival of the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad, completed to Petoskey on November 25, 1873.
