Sunk - Loss of a Schooner

We learn from a gentleman who arrived at Oswego via Lake Ontario Saturday morning, that on Thurday evening last at a point about 40 miles below Niagara, the schooner "Cuba,: W.H. Manwaring, Master, was run into by the propeller "Genesee Chief" and with her entire catgo, 6,000 bushels of wheat, sunk. The Cuba sailed from Sandusky, Ohio, and was bound for Oswego, to which place her cargo was consigned. The schooner and cargo were the property of the firm of Fitzhugh, of Oswego.
