Description

Mud lock. We are glad to learn from the Syracuse Standard that affairs at Mud Lock are not as bad condition as was supposed. The coffer dam is not materially injured by the pressure of water, but measures have been taken to strengthen the work. The whole labor of bailing out the lock pit, increasing the breadth of the dam, and bailing the low ground where the stones are deposited, will probably be accomplished and labor resumed in time to finish the lock by the opening of navigation.
