Kingston Notes. Kingston, Dec. 17.— (Special.)—The Court of Revision has recommended a reduction of 40 per cent, in the assessment of vessel property owned in the city. This was done last year on being proved that the vessels had not paid expenses during the preceding season. In Portsmouth harbour, schrs M O'Gorman and Mary. Tugs Frank Perew and Jessie Hall, and the elevators and barges of the St. Lawrence & Chicago Forwarding Co. At Garden Island, schrs Oriental, Siberia, Prussia, Den* mark, Norway, Anglo-Saxon, and B ismarck. Barges St. Lawrence and Snipe. The planihig of the new barge D D Calvin is being rapid* ]y pushed forward, the engines and boiler being constructed in Cleveland. Schr Princess Louise lies near Bath where she undergoes repairs. She will be lengthened. At the marine railroad a new stern will be placed in the yacht Hebe. The tug Champion is being dismantled here. The engine will be transferred to the hull of the new craft now being built at Montreal Transportation Company's shipyard. The new tug is on the model of the Champion, but has a broader beam. The str Maud was detained for some hours at the Cape to-day in consequence of a derangement of her machinery. The earnings of the Wrecking Company during the past season amounted to over 825,000. Considerable repairs will be done to the fleet of tucs at Port Colborne during the winter. The tug Hector has been taken bo Welland, where she will receive new decks,, cabin, and have her boilers repaired. The tug Clara has gone to Port Robinson for a new hull. The tug Mary will have a new cabin built at Port Colborne, and the other Luys will receive more'or less repairs. The Messrs Chase Bros will put a uew deck on the schr Wawanosh. Captain William Christy, a well-Known lake captain, has been arrested at Erie, Pa., for adultery. The prosecutor is Frederick Asper, a compositor, who alleges that he has been dishonoured by Christy. To the Editor of The Inter Ocean. United States Light Station, South Haven, Mica., Dec. 15.—I have the honor to report to you. the following steamers and vessels in winter quarters here: Steam Craft—Propellers Mary Groh and H. B. Perue, steamer Grace Grummond, tugs Ked Jacket and Cupid. Schooners—William Smith, William Finch, O. Shaw, Henry Cowies, Charles J. Smith, Mary E. Packard, Mount Desert, Anna Tho'rine, Mary Ludwig, Alert, Adella, Nellie Anna, Lillie Amiat, Spray, Thomas C. Wilson, Cold Spring". The harbor here is open. The light has not been discontinued and will be kept up as long as any vessel can enter here. Ice-burgs have formed on the beach 150 feet. Weather pleasant; wind south, gentle. They are hauling out the propeller Hattie B. Perue and will lengthen her thirty feet this winter. The schooner Spray is also being repaired. The tug Welcome, of Chicago, is here sturgeon iisbing. She is a splendid tug, and she carries a set of perfect gentlemen for a crew. Wc all hope they will do well. J. S. D. Vessels—Mischicott, Ellen Q. Cocharen, Gertie Wing, Amoskeag, Jennie Mullen, Butcher Boy, Bronson, delictus. Imperial, Success, Burt Barnes, Glen Cuyler, Talla-"hassa, J'our Brothers, Ellen Stevenson, Manner, Lydia, Luna, Graham Brothers, United States dredge and scows. Tugs—George W. Wood, George Pankratz, Kitty Smoke, Mary A. Gagnon, Cyclone, (Arctic still in commission). Craft expected to lay up yet at Manitowoc are the steamer Chicago; schooners, F. H. Williams. Isolda Bock, and CO. Barnes; scow Enterprise, and dredge and dump scows. The Corona is in Lhe dry-dock; and the following craft will receive repairs: Cyclone, Favorite, Jennie Mullen, Amoskeag, Paul .Nelson, G. W. Wood, Bronson, Butcher Boy.
