Gross measured tonnage is given. To ascertain approximate coarse freight carrying capacity of a steamer at 10 feet draft, in net tons, add 40 per cent, gross tonnage to the gross tonnage given. To find the approximate carrying capacity of a schooner, or tow barge, in net tons, at 1(5 feet draft, add 00 per cent, of gross tonnage to the gross tonnage given.
