- Digital photograph of the laker Herbert C Jackson (The Interlake Steamship Co.) passing slowly on the way downstream about 8 PM on Monday March 28th, headed for Toledo. Seen here as she cleared the Ambassador Bridge, Windsor.
The boat had been damaged by heavy "growlers" (lake ice) out on Lake Superior and had turned back for the Soo, spending Saturday and Sunday tied up below the MacArthur Lock, before leaving to continue downward bound about 6 PM Sunday. (according to BoatNerd.com)
