Steamer Fashion Sunk

This steamer, in making out of Dunkirk harbor, on Saturday, the 4th of Nov., ran against some sunken obstacle, supposed to have been a portion of the steamer Columbus. No serious leakage being discovered, she proceeded on her way, but when about a mile from port, it was ascertained that water was gaining with fearful rapidity in the hold. -- Capt. Evans endeavored to return, but in coming round, the violence of the gale, raging at the time, shifted her cargo, driving a portion of it among the machinery, thereby reventing its working. By the assistance of the passengers, the crew put all to rights, and the boat was run ashore near the wharf, where she lies at plresent, in five feet water.

The cargo was slightly damaged, and the vessel but little more, and will be enabled to resume her trips in a few days. No blame can be attached to any person.
