Nomination of Candidates at Owen Sound

The efforts of Mr, McPherson's boasted wealth were conspicuous at the nomination which took place in Owen Sound yesterday. For weeks past it has been known that Mr. McPherson had chartered for the occasion all the steamers plying to the Sound; and had made private arrangements with the Northern Railway Company for a special train to convey passengers to Collingwood, where they were to embark on board steamers for the scene of their usefulness... From Penetanguishene Mr. McPherson's free and independent supporters were taken by the steamer Bruce, and from Collingwood by the steamer Clifton ...
