Full Text

The new steam boat Ontario, Captain Hilliard, (formerly of the William 4th) arrived here yesterday, in tow of the Kingston. She is indeed a beautiful vessel, and promises to be very fast, - if the engines work to their power she will be a good 14 miles an hour boat, and may go 16. She will have 2 engines of 75 horse power - draws not more than 4 feet 6 inches water with every thing on board - diameter of water wheels 26 feet - breadth of beam 26 feet 2 inches - breadth over all 53 feet. The Great Britain takes her to Niagara to-day to receive her machinery.
