MARINE INTELLIGENCE.

The Baker Bros. are very busy trying to take the schr. Gleniffer off the beach at Mimico.

The schr. Little Wolf (Lottie Wolf ?) is ashore at Hope Island, near Midland, Georgian Bay. She is laden with corn from Chicago to Midland. Last evening Capt. T. Donnelly shipped a steam pump to Midland to be used in releasing the vessel.

It is reported that vessel room for 6,000,000 bushels of wheat has been chartered at Duluth, and that a good part of the grain will go for export via Montreal. The export business of the Montreal route by way of Kingston is now heavier than it ever has been.

General Paragraphs - The barge Siren, 513 tons coal, barge Hiawatha, 711 tons coal; barge Thrush, 868 tons coal, are in port from Oswego. The steamer Orion cleared for Detroit.

This morning, while the str. Pierrepont was towing the schr. Whitecloud, laden with lumber, into the harbor, the anchor of the Whitecloud struck sunken crib work and raised it to the surface. The timber soon worked off the anchor and sank like stone. It was rumored that part of the cribwork for the suction pipe was torn away but this turned out to be untrue.

p.4 Interesting Items By Wire - The schooner Lottie Wolf, from Chicago, loaded with corn for Gooderham & Worts, Toronto, ran on a reef off Hope Island and will be a total wreck.
