The schooner Abbie L. Andrews is on her way to Buffalo with a novel cargo of lumber. Pfohl & Son have bought three lots of shipwrecked stock, and the Andrews will collect it together. She will take 50,000 feet of maple that was lost last season by the Desmond near Manitowoc, 200,000 feet from the George Steele's cargo lost at Au Sable, and 50,000 feet of pine from the cargo of the T. S. Fassett, which wintered ashore near Sand Beach.

The ANDREWS (US#105224 and later C#122637) was one of the longest-lived wooden schooners in the history of lakes commerce, having been built by Bailey Bros. at Toledo in 1873 and not officially abandoned until 1937 or 8.
