IN MARINE CIRCLES.

The tug Walker, with three light barges, arrived today from Montreal.

The tug Hall with four barges, light, arrived at the M.T. Co.'s wharf yesterday.

The schooner Burton cleared this afternoon for Oswego to load coal for this port.

The schooner Nellie Hunter arrived this morning from Oswego with 300 tons of coal for Crawford & Co.

The schooner St. Louis, Serpent River to Collins Bay, timber, cleared the Welland canal this morning.

The tug Mary, of Cornwall, entered the government dry dock this evening to have a new wheel placed in position.

The steamer S.J. Murphy and schooner Kate Butteroni, Duluth to Kingston, wheat laden, passed down through the Welland canal today.

The steamer Glengarry and consort Minnedosa, Chicago, 87,000 bushels of corn, will arrive tomorrow at the M.T. Co.'s anchorage.

The Collins Bay rafting company started a raft of timber for Quebec on Saturday. It was one of the largest sent down this season by the company.

The Calvin company's raft, No. 12, containing 170,000 cubic feet of timber, was taken from Garden Island to Quebec in four days and fifteen hours. This is the fastest time on record.

The steamer Bannockburn, Fort William, arrived Saturday with 76,000 bushels of wheat. She left again the same evening with the schooners Winnipeg and Selkirk in tow. They will bring down wheat from Fort William.

The barge Syren (Siren ?), which struck a rock in the rapids below Cardinal, did not go ashore on Doran's Island but was stranded in the centre of the channel to the right of that island. The steamer Parthia with barge and working appliances went from Garden Island to her rescue on Saturday.

It is understood at Alexandria Bay that Messrs. Holmes and Harder, of Redwood, and Inglehart, Powers and Taggart, of Watertown, stockholders in the Alexandria Bay steamboat company, who bid in the Island Wanderer and the Island Belle, will organize a new company and run the boats upon the same routes as heretofore. In other quarters it is said the sale was simply used to get a perfect title to the boats and that now the Folgers will make an effort to buy them.
