The Yacht Races.

The official instructions have been issued for the yacht races, which open on Friday the 22nd.

The course is laid so that the start and finish are across an imaginary line between the yacht club house and a buoy moored about 500 feet out. Buoy No. 2 is three miles from this in an easterly direction, and buoy No. 3 the same distance in a south westerly direction.

If a blue flag is hoisted the start will be made from west to east, leaving the home buoy to starboard, buoy No. 2 to starboard, thence back to home buoy, leaving it to port, thence to buoy No. 3 leaving it to starboard, thence across the line, leaving buoy No. 1 to starboard.

If a red flag is hoisted the start will be made from east to west, leaving the home buoy to north, buoy No. 3 to port, back to buoy No. 1 leaving it to starboard, thence to buoy No. 2 leaving it to port, and thence across the line leaving No. 1 to port.

On July 22nd and 25th the yachts in the first class, thirty-two-foot class and twenty-two-foot class will race. Time guns at 10:30 and 10:50 a.m.; third gun at 11 a.m. for first class to start; fourth gun at 11:10 a.m. for thirty-two-foot class to start; fifth gun at 11:20 for twenty-two-foot class to start. The first class and thirty-two-foot class will sail two rounds, the twenty-two-foot class one round.

July 23rd and 26th for thirty-seven-foot class, twenty-seven-foot class and twenty-two-foot knockabout class. Time guns at 10:30 and 10:50 a.m.; third gun at 11 a.m. for thirty-seven-foot class to start; fourth gun at 11:10 for twenty-seven-foot class, and fifth gun at 11:20 for twenty-two-foot knockabout class. The thirty-seven-foot class and the twenty-seven-foot class will sail two rounds and the twenty-two-foot class one round. The rules of the Lake yacht racing association will apply to all races, and the time limit will be seven hours.

The flag on the club house will be lowered at the time of each starting gun. Should the gun miss fire the lowering of the flag will be the signal to start. Five boats must start or no fourth prize; four or no third prize; three or no second prize.

MARINE INTELLIGENCE.

The schooner Two Brothers cleared for Oswego today.

The steamer Columbian left for Montreal this morning.

Two barges loaded grain at Richardsons' elevator this morning for Montreal.

The schooner Acacia arrived from Oswego today with coal for Booth & Co.

The steamer Arundell on her way down the river touched at this port last evening.

The tug James A. Walker left for Oswego last night with two barges to load coal.

The propellor Lake Michigan, from Hamilton, lightened 4,000 bushels of wheat at Richardsons' elevator this morning and proceeded to Montreal.

Welland Canal Report.

Port Dalhousie, July 13th - Down: Steamer Smith, Chicago to Kingston, corn; schooner Dunn, Toledo to Kingston, timber; steamer Cynthia, Buffalo to Charlotte, light.

Port Colborne, July 13th - Down: Steamer Monteagle, Chicago to Kingston, corn; steam yacht Cynthia, Buffalo to Charlotte; Ralph Harold, Chicago to Kingston, corn; Warrington, Buffalo to Ogdensburg, general cargo; Iron Duke, Chicago to Kingston, corn.

p.6 The Competing Yachts - list of 30 yachts belonging to Royal Canadian yacht club, Toronto; Oswego yacht club; Royal Hamilton yacht club; Queen City yacht club, Toronto which intend to compete at Kingston.

Snips - The mail line has decided to withdraw the double service between Montreal and Kingston. Heretofore two steamers left Montreal daily for the western port, but in future there will be only one, this being considered sufficient for the present business.

The steamer New York is receiving two new buckets on her paddle wheel to replace the two broken by running on the bank in the Cornwall canal.

The steamer Monteagle arrived from Chicago this morning with 50,000 bushels of corn.

The steamer Arundell, from Alexandria Bay, touched at Swift's wharf this morning.
