Detroit, Mich., Oct. 3. -- A dispatch from Forestville, Mich., says: "The steam barge MATTAWAN of Montreal went ashore near Richmondville, about eight miles south of here, yesterday and is badly damaged. Her crew has been safely taken off by the Allen brothers, living near, who used a small rowboat."

Alpena, Mich., Oct. 3. -- the Anchor Line steamship SUSQUEHANNA is at anchor off Thunder Bay Island with her rudder gone. She is in a dangerous position if the wind shifts. She ran from Point aux Barques to the Bay with no steering gear. The crew say the largest sea they ever saw swept away over the cabin, breaking windows and carrying overboard everything movable. the propeller WILSON arrived here this morning with topmasts gone but otherwise uninjured.

Port Sanilac, Mich., Oct. 3. -- The bodies of the five people from the barge ST. CLAIR drowned here yesterday morning when the Sand Beach lifeboat was swamped have all been recovered.
