p.1 Dredge Reached Port Nelson - Ottawa, Oct. 11th - The marine department has received word, by wireless telegraph, from Port Nelson, that the new dredge, which left Toronto in August, had safely reached Port Nelson, in tow of the tug Belle Venture. The voyage from Toronto to Port Nelson took forty-two days. The dredge will be immediately put into operation deepening the channel leading to Hudson Bay railway terminal.

IN MARINE CIRCLES

The deal referred to in the Whig a few days ago, for the purchase of the Prince Rupert

and the barges Ceylon and Burmah, of the Calvin company's fleet, by the Montreal Transportation company, has been put through.

The barges will go over to the M.T. Co. at once, but the company will not take possession of the steamer Prince Rupert until the end of the season.

The steamer Sowards cleared Friday night for Oswego, also the steam barge Jeska.

The schooner Katie Eccles, coal laden from Charlotte, is unloading at R. Crawford's wharf.

The steamer Glenmount passed up at midnight, loaded with rails from Sydney, on the way to Fort William.

M.T. Co.'s elevator: tug Bronson is due to arrive tonight from Montreal with three light barges; tug Hall cleared for Montreal with three grain barges.

The steamers City of Ottawa and Glen Mavis passed down on Saturday morning.

The tug (sic) Gladys H. is loading grain for Quebec at Richardson's elevator.

The steamer Alexandria arrived at Folger's wharf on Friday midnight on her trip up from Montreal.

The steamer Waterlily is due today from Montreal to discharge freight at Folger's wharf.

The steamer Buena Vista arrived at Swift's wharf from Ottawa.

The steamer Wolfe Islander, which has been undergoing repairs at Davis' dry dock, will leave the dock on Monday evening.
