IN MARINE CIRCLES

The schooner Arthurs arrived from Oswego with coal for Swift's.

The schooner St. Louis, coal laden from Charlotte, is discharging at R. Crawford's wharf.

The schooner Horace Taber passed down on Saturday, coal-laden from Oswego, on the way to Gananoque.

The steamer Stormount passed down, grain-laden from Fort William, on the way to Montreal. The vessel will go on light to Sydney, to load rails for Fort William.

The steamer City of Hamilton passed down on Saturday.

The steamer Dunelm passed up on Friday afternoon.

The steamer Bickerdike was docked at the shipyard on Saturday morning. She was aground in the Lachine lake earlier in the week.

It was expected that the repairs to the bucket of the air pump of the steamer Masaba, would be completed by Saturday night, and she would continue east.

The schooner Julia B. Merrill arrived from Oswego with coal for Anglin's wharf.

M.T. Co.'s elevator: tug Emerson from Montreal, three light barges, cleared with the barge Quebec for Charlotte to load coal for Montreal, and the barge Ungava for Port Colborne to load grain for Montreal.

Had To Leave Cattle - When the steamer Pierrepont, carrying a shipment of cattle for the Messrs. Weber, got over to Simcoe Island on Friday afternoon, it had to lighten its cargo, and put some of the cattle off on the island. The steamer, when it left Kingston, was loaded too heavily on the bow, which caused the rudder to be suspended out of the water. The cattle also moved about considerable and caused the boat to list at a very dangerous angle. Upon reaching Simcoe Island it ran in and put off forty of the cattle and proceeded to Cape Vincent. When the cattle were to be taken on again, it was found that two of them were missing. The cattle may have taken to the water and swam away or else some one has got them safely put away.
