-On Friday morning no report had been received that Hecla, of the Hall Coal Company, of Ogdensburg, N.Y., had been released from her grounding in the St. Lawrence, about two miles below Alexandria Bay. She was hard on. The steamer Cornwall and tug Frontenac, of the Calvin Co., and the tug Bartlett, of the Montreal Transportation Co., tried, in vain, to pull her off on Thursday.

-The steamer Navajo, with Capt. John Gould in command, left on Friday morning, for the scene of the wreck of the barge Ceylon, a few miles off Long Point, to see what can be done in the way of raising the vessel.
