p.3 Short Notes - City of Belleville broke one of her wheels near Mill Point

Police Court - John Roberts, captain of a schooner, was charged with employing sailors contrary to law. It seems that the defendant did not provide the articles for signature which the law required, and the Kingston Branch of the Sailors' Union entered a prosecution against him. The case was withdrawn on the payment of costs and an agreement to comply with the law in future.
