The barque Arabia, in tow of the tug Chieftain, arrived at noon yesterday, and is being unloaded at the St. Lawrence and Chicago Forwarding Co. wharf. She looks pretty well battered up. Owing to the rough weather she had to run back from Toronto to Niagara. Her cargo of 19,400 bush. corn is uninjured. One of the hands reports that in the gale in which the vessel was dismasted, her steering gear was damaged, and she had great difficulty in getting into port. The men were pretty much frightened at the prospect before them, but none of them were injured.
The schooner Dauntless, loaded with stone for Charlotte, is ashore on Snake Island Shoal. The tug Metamora is working at her, but so far has not got her off.
