p.4 Floating Facts - The steam yacht Carlton called at Swift's today.

-The schooner Grantham is among the vessels at Garden Island with timber.

-The steamer Armenia called at Gunn's this morning on her way to Deseronto.

-The steambarge Tecumseh and consorts have arrived at Collinsby with timber.

-The schooner Sylvester Neelon brought her cargo of rock elm from Onekana, Mich.

-The steambarge Tecumseh has gone to Port Dalhousie from Collinsby to tow a raft to the latter place.

-The schrs. Sylvester Neelon, Benson and Augusta are at Garden Island with timber.

-The schooners Jessie Breck and W.R. Taylor are expected at Garden Island tomorrow from Toledo. They are laden with timber.

Swift's: Steamer Algerian, Toronto; str. Corinthian, Montreal; prop. Cuba, Montreal to Chicago, coaled; steamer Rideau Belle, Westport.

-The steamer Chieftain left Garden Island for Quebec this afternoon with Calvin & Son's eleventh raft. It contains ten drams of pine and oak timber.

-The tug Easton arrived from Ottawa today with three barges containing over half a million feet of lumber. It will be transferred into the M.T. Company's barges and taken to Oswego.

Port Colborne, July 29th - Passed Down: Schr. Nassau and Watertown, Chicago, Kingston; Pulaski, Toledo, Kingston; Maria Annette, Cleveland, Port Hope; G.M. Chase, W.R. Taylor and J.H. Breck, Toledo, Kingston; prop. California, Chicago, Montreal.

-The prop. California is now en route from Chicago to Montreal with a cargo of 18,000 bushels of corn, at the exceptionally low rate of 4 cents per bushel. This is the lowest through lake and river freight ever taken via the St. Lawrence route, and it is doubtful if Erie can go one lower. The lowest rate previously recorded from Chicago to Montreal was 5 cents per bushel on a propellor load of wheat.
