p.4 Floating Facts - Grain freights were active at Chicago on Wednesday.
-The tug McArthur took a small raft of logs to Collins Bay today.
-The schr. B.W. Folger is unloading grate coal at Swift's.
-The steambarge Alabama is lightening 1,000 bags of salt at Gunn's.
-The str. Swan, of Ottawa, Capt. T.L. Sproule, left for Ottawa last night.
-The schr. Ganges arrived at Garden Island this morning from Manistee with a load of timber.
-The schr. L.S. Hammond has cleared from Chicago for Kingston with 20,100 bushels of wheat.
-The schr. A.B. Norris will receive 3 5/8 cents on a cargo of 42,000 bushels from Chicago to Kingston.
-The prop. Cuba arrived at the M.T. Co's wharf, this afternoon, with grain from Chicago.
-Men are working night and day repairing the steamer Hero. She will resume her trips next week.
-The steamer Ontario arrived from Alexandria Bay at Swift's this morning with a small excursion party on board.
-The tug Active left for Oswego with eight barges this morning. The barges were laden with lumber.
-The steambarge Nile with a tow of three barges, laden with lumber from Ottawa, is expected at Rathbun's tomorrow.
-The steamers Corinthian, from Toronto; Passport, from Montreal; and Gypsy, from South Bay, called at Swift's today.
-The schr. Polly M. Rogers ran into Oswego on Wednesday evening being unable to reach Fairhaven. There was a heavy sea running.
-The str. Metamora and consorts Manley and Russell are discharging cargoes of timber at the Island. They will ply between Byng Inlet and Tonawanda for the remainder of the season.
