printed this item to add to our Family Tree Captain Tom Van Dusen was my Grandfather as well as my 8 siblings We have been living in Picton, Wellington South Marysburg for the pastmany years . Original emigration from Holland was around 1643 from the island of Jersey and then to New Amsterdam , New York and Claverack NY on the Hudson . The family was one of the many branches that either moved , into the states or up to Loyalists' country in Ontario .
At 84 years I must beg the readers' indulgence in any error omissions . etc . My only hope is that my survivors will enjoy the read.

I have looked up this article a few times over the years. Captain Tom Van Dusen was my Great Great Grandfather. My Grandfather, also Tom Van Dusen was the oldest of the 8 siblings and would often tell us the story of the Oliver Mowat. Thank you to whoever has posted it and thanks to my Great Uncle Eddie for commenting on a bit of the Van Dusen family history.
