I think the above comments relate to a different WESTERN METROPOLIS that was on the Atlantic.

I have a large print of the Western Metropolis. It has the artists name "George Irwin" and the number 46 in the lower right corner.

My 3rd Great Grandfather, Isaac Pheatt, was a captain on this ship on the Great Lakes prior to it going down on Lake Michigan.

I'm fascinated with this ship and would like any more information available. I'm also looking for the original print/painting, but not sure if it still exists.
