GOVERNMENT SALE.
Notice is hereby given, that sundry Batteaux & Appurtenances, Candle Boxes, etc., not required for the service of the Government, will be sold by Public Auction, at the Scow Wharf, on Thursday the 20th of April next, at noon.

STEAM BOATS
Notice is hereby given to all Proprietors of Steam Vessels, willing to furnish Transport for the service of the Government, for the Conveyance of Troops, Baggage, Clothing, Stores, etc. upon Lake Ontario, and from Kingston to the head of the Bay of Quinte, during the Navigation of the present year, that Tenders will be received at this Office on or before the 17th day of April next, at Noon.
The conditions of the Contract, and form of Tender, (to be made out in British Money,) may be known on application at this Office; and those for the Lake are to express the rates of Cabin and Deck Passengers, Horses, Hardware, Stores per Ton, Barrels of Pork, Beef, Flour, or Liquors, and Puncheons, and Hogsheads of Rum, from Kingston to York, and Burlington, and vice versa; and from York to Fort George, and Burlington, and vice versa - and those for the Bay of Quinte, the rates of Passengers and Stores mentioned above, from Kingston to the Mohawk Village, Hallowell, Bellville, the Carrying Place, and Mouth of the Trent, and vice versa.
No Proposal will be noticed unless made in the Form prescribed, and signed by two sufficient sureties, willing to become bound for the fulfilment of the Contract, as well as by the Party making the offer, who, or Agents duly authorized on their behalf, must attend at the time of opening the Tenders, to give any explanation required; and it will be a condition of any Contract that may be entered into, that it shall be optional with the Commissariat Officer in charge, to pay for the Transport furnished, either in British Silver Money at its nominal rate; in other Specie at the par of 4s. 4d. per Spanish Dollar, or in Bills of Exchange on His Majesty's Treasury, at thirty days after sight of £100 for each £103, due upon the Contract.
Any further conditions and particulars may be known upon application at this office.
The Tenders must be sealed and endorsed "Tender for Transport."
