p.1 Provincial Parliament of Upper Canada - 10th January - Mr. Lyons gave a notice concerning the report of the commissioners for internal navigation, for constructing a canal from the head of the Bay of Quinte to the Presquile Harbour.

p.2 Commodore Barrie gives Ball for inhabitants of Kingston and the military and naval branches of the Service.

GOVERNMENT TRANSPORT.

Notice is hereby given, that sealed tenders will be received at the Commissariat Office, Kingston, until 12 o'clock on the morning of Thursday, the 5th day of March next, from such persons as may be willing to undertake the transport of all Government Stores, (heavy ordnance and gunpowder excepted) Troops, Settlers, Baggage, Horses, etc. from Kingston to York, Niagara, Queenston and other Posts at the head of the Lake; or from those places respectively to Kingston; and also from York to Niagara, or other Posts at the head of the Lake and back again, during the ensuing season.

The Tenders must be made according to a prescribed form, which can be obtained at this Office, where also the several conditions of the intended contract may be seen, and each Tender must bear the signatures of two respectable persons as sureties for the undertaking.

The rates and prices must be stated in sterling, and the payments will be made in British Silver, or in Government Bills at the rate of One Hundred Pounds for each and every One Hundred and One Pounds Ten Shillings due upon the Contract.
