p.2 Our Harbour is now entirely free of ice.

Steam Boat Queenston - This fine vessel arrived here yesterday afternoon, on her return from York and Niagara, and proceeded immediately to Prescott. She will return tomorrow, and leave this for York and Niagara tomorrow evening, at six o'clock.

The Queenston having lately undergone a thorough repair, is exceedingly well adapted for the accommodation of travellers, and Captain Whitney is well known to the public, for his uniform attention and civility to his passengers, and as an able and experienced seaman.

The Niagara Steam Boat arrived here last night from Prescott, and proceeded this afternoon to York and Niagara it being her second trip since the opening of the Navigation. Capt. Mosier with his usual activity and enterprise was the first on the Lake this season.

The Alciope, Capt. Mackenzie is expected here from Prescott on Tuesday on her way to York and Niagara.

The Dalhousie, Capt. Macdonell, has commenced her regular trips from Prescott to this place, bringing the mail as usual.

The Sir James Kempt - This beautiful boat makes her first trip to the Bay of Quinte on Monday. The manner in which the Sir James Kempt is fitted out is creditable to the taste and judgement of Capt. Gilderslieve.

The Rideau Canal - We regret to learn that an unpleasant accident has occurred on this work. The Perth Examiner states, that on the 3rd instant, the dams at the Hog's Back and Black Rapids were both carried off by the violence of the current. Col. By, it would appear, was standing on the dam at the Hog's Back, near the centre, at the time of the accident, and escaped with difficulty. The loss sustained, in consequence of this unfortunate circumstance, is estimated at £10,000 to £40,000.

p.3 a letter to editor about reduction of canal tolls on the St. Lawrence - thinks the tolls are too high - signed Mercator (full column).
