p.2 The steam-boat Niagara, on her passage downward, on Sunday last, had upwards of 60 American cabin passengers, principally Americans. On her trip upward on Wednesday, the Niagara had upwards of 200 emigrants on board, principally from the Highlands of Scotland.

The Welland Canal - We learn by the Oswego Palladium, that the schooner Erie had arrived at that place from Cleveland, Ohio, via the Welland Canal. Her arrival was greeted by the ringing of bells, the firing of a national salute of 24 guns, displaying of flags, etc.

A public dinner was given on the occasion... (followed by long list of toasts given)
