p.2 For the satisfaction of the shippers of goods on board the John Watkins schooner, Capt. Thew, we beg to announce that she arrived safe here and has proceeded to Prescott. During the late Gale the John Watkins lost her foremast, and Captain Thew received a severe injury on the hand. [Herald]

charges preferred against Lieut. Col. By for mismanagement of the affairs of the Rideau Canal, by a Clerk lately employed in Royal Engineer department at Bytown - discussed. [Montreal Gazette] with details of a letter he wrote to [Vindicator].
