p.2 Notwithstanding the exertions made use of by certain persons to impress the public with a belief of the unfitness of the steamer John By to carry freight, we have the pleasure of recording the fact that she arrived here this morning from Prescott with one of the largest cargoes of freight and passengers landed at our port this season.
