Distant view of the Calvin Company steam tow boats towing large rafts of timber from their headquarters at Garden Island, near Kingston, Ontario to Quebec City. A small hut can be seen on the raft where its crew would live.
Notes
Calvin's operated the JOHN A MACDONALD from 1866 to 1895 and the CHIEFTAIN from 1874 to 1905. Both were launched from Garden Island.
