p.4 We learn that there was a tremendous row last night between the Captain of the Mail Steamer Sovereign and some of his passengers, on her trip from Toronto. The row arose in consequence of the Captain bringing accusation of stealing a $10 bill against a passenger on board, a lawyer of Niagara. Another member of the Bar, a member of Parliament, took the part of the Niagara lawyer. The Captain threatened to call down his crew and throw the member of Parliament over-board. The member of Parliament threatened to place the Captain over his knee, and treat him as his momma used to do. And the affair ended by the Captain walking on deck. [Kingston Argus]
