Lake Ontario.--We have been informed by a gentleman from Lake Ontario, that the steam boats on that lake, have been newly fitted up. The Ontario, on the American side, is still under the command of Captain Vaughn; the Frontenac, on the British side, is in charge of her old Captain, Mackenzie; and the new boat Queenston, is commanded by Captain Whiting; all well known and esteemed by travellers. The lines of steam boats from Kingston to Prescott, and from Sackett's Harbor to Ogdensburgh, are good; and the excellent line of stages from Prescott to Montreal, will render the trip from the Niagara Falls to Lower Canada, both pleasant and agreeable.-- N.
