NEW STEAMBOAT MOVEMENT.--We understand a numerous meeting of the principal mechanics of the city of Oswego, and a portion of the stockholders in the old Ontario and St. Lawrence Steamboat Company, was held in this city yesterday, for the purpose of considering the propriety of organizing a new Steamboat Company with a capital of $300,000. It is contemplated we understand, to build a line of new steamers, on a new and improved plan, calculated to make the passage from Lewiston to Ogdensburgh in eighteen hours, including stoppages. The meeting was private, and we have no particulars, but learn that it was unanimous and harmonious in its action. We shall be happy to give the details and conclusions of the meeting of the projectors of this movement hereafter, as a matter of general public interest, especially to this locality.--Oswego Palladium.
