Mr. Davis Bell recently completed a new iron side-wheel steamer, and the same has been chartered by the Great Western Railway - so Mr. Malcolm, the agent informs us - to ply between this city and Fort Erie, in order the connection can be made with the Erie & Niagara Railway, which will be re-opemed on the 3rd. of May. The boat will most assuredly meet with the admiration of our citizens and become popular with them for taking excursions down the river, for which it is partially designed. It is most excellently adapted for that purpose and the Great Western Railway really merits the approbation and patronage of the public for the enterprise they have exhibited in thus chartering this boat, which it is expected will be launched in a few days, and we will give further particulars about her.

Mr Bell has also constructed of iron several smaller boats, one of which, the "IVANHOE," done good service under captain Paul Pelkey on Portage Lake last summer.
