Detroit, December 7. -- Late today the EASTERN STATES, reputed to be the largest side-wheel passenger boat on the Great Lakes and built for the detroit and Buffalo navigation Company, was launched at Wyandotte.

The first of the two big side-wheel passenger steamers; the EASTERN STATES; now under construction for the new Detroit, & Buffalo Line; was purchased from the Wyandotte yard of the Detroit Ship Building Co. on Saturday afternoon.
