We stated the other day, that the time of the unfortunate collision between
the UNCLE SAM and the COMMODORE PERRY, the former carried no lights. Capt.
McMillen, of the UNCLE SAM, informs us that such was not the fact; she carried
four lights, two on the upper and two on the lower deck.

COLLISION.--The stcamboat UNCLE SAM ran afoul of the COM. PERRY, near Sandusky on Saturday morning last, by which incident the guards of the latter boat were carried away, and timbers of a foot square broken. The cook of the COM PERRY was missed soon after the collision, and is believed to be drowned.

      . . . . .

The COMMODORE PERRY was run into by the UNCLE SAM about 4:00 on Saturday
morning, a little this side of Sandusky. Considerable damage was done, and the
cook of the COMMODORE PERRY is missing. The UNCLE SAM it is said, carried no
lights. If such is the fact, it deserves the severest reprehension, as under
such circumstances from the multitude of boats on our lakes, accidents are
almost inevitable. - Buffalo Com. Adv. 19th.
