Full Text

The steamer Edward Buckley, Captain Peterson, arrived here Tuesday and has since been placed in winter quarters at the shipyard. The Buckley is to receive a general rebuild between this time and spring. The steamer S. O. Neff, Capt. Elbe, arrived here the same day for a similar purpose.

The steamers Neff and Buckley will be lifted on the two floating docks and the work of a general rebuild commenced immediately. The work will be rushed to completion, which will be along in the middle of the winter. These boats will then be floated and the three lightships taken in for their rebuilds. A great deal of work will be done, such as in getting them ready, etc., before putting them in the dock, so that no time will be lost when the work of rebuilding is begun.
