This is remarkable in that the wooden hull by then was 66 years of age. We still have no v e r i fication of the eventual dispos i t i o n of the hull, although we suppose that it simply rotted away at K i n g s t o n or perhaps was towed out into Lake Ontario and scuttled, as was the fate of so man y wooden hulls in earlier years. L. C R U I C KSHANK It is with regret that we report the passing at Owen Sound, on January 8th, 1993, of Captain Will i a m Lance Cruickshank, at age 85. He had been a member of the Toronto Marine H i storical Society for many years. Capt. Cruick s h a n k had served for many years in the ships of the Owen Sound Transpo r t a t i o n Company Ltd. He was first mate of the venerable MANITOULIN, and served in the same capacity aboard NORGOMA, her replacement on the "Turkey Trail" route between Owen Sound and Sault Ste. Marie. He was master of NORG O M A during her last two years of service (by that time she was used exclusively on the M a n i t o u l i n Island ferry service), and then m oved over to command CHI - C H E E M A U N w hen the new ferry appeared on the route. P redeceased by his wife, a sister and a brother, Capt.
