from a survey by W. P. Anderson, Esqr, C. E. Chief Engineer Department of Marine & Fisheries
assisted by Messrs. T. Drummond, C.E., and F. A. Wilkin, 1893
Portions East and South of Amherst Bar from United States Government surveys.
With additions from various Land surveys.
All heights are expressed in feet above the mean level of the Lake.
Magnetic Variation in 1900, increasing about 4' annually.
All Bearings are Magnetic.
Soundings in Feet
(reduced to Zero of Gauge at Toronto)
Note.
The compass cannot be relied on in the vicinity of Kingston; the Variation has been observed in this locality by Capt. J. B. Cockrane, R. M. C. and found to range from 17°E to 28°W [error: minutes]
