      DISASTERS. - Private dispatches report that the schooner AUGUSTUS FORD sprung a leak on Tuesday, while in the canal at St. Catharines. A steam pump has been sent to her assistance.

      THE FORD. - The schooner AUGUSTUS FORD, which sunk in the Welland Canal, has been pumped out and lightered, and yesterday started for the dry dock at St. Catharines. Capt. Busher, marine inspector, who has just returned from the scene of the disaster, thinks that of her cargo of wheat and corn, probably not more than half was wet.
