      MARINE. - A gale from the south-west sprung up last night about half past five and continued without abatement until aboutten o'clock this morning when it began to lull. The brig AMAZON loaded with flour and corn in attempting to enter port drifted onto the beach a few rods west of the north pier, and when we left her the sea was dashing over her decks. The vessel, however, is not thought to be in immiment danger, and will be got off after lightering. The three masted schooner ROUGH AND READY struck the South pier in entering port and afterward drifted on to the north pier. She was finally extrcated from her position, through the efforts of Capt. Dorr, of the Buffalo Mutual Insurance Co. The AMAZON is owned by Mr. Scott of Cleveland, and there is no insurance on her.
      P.M. The schooner MARION loaded with flour and corn ran onto an anchor near the end of the pier, and sunk near Dart's Elevator. A portion of the cargo is insurred.

Marine -- Last evening several vessels heavily laden came driving into port, the wind blowing briskly, and much difficulty was experienced in effecting an entrance. The brig RAMSEY CROOKS lost her headway, and drifted with her bow on the south pier near where the MARION is sunk. The barque UTICA encountered similar difficulty, and taking the same sheer that the CROOKS did, struck her about midships cutting down the upper works of the CROOKS and carrying away a portion of her rigging.
      The schooner FLORENCE and brig AMAZON after lying on the beach for some days, succeeded in getting into port last evening.
