MARINE DISASTER.---The schooner ARIEL, loaded with 10,000 bushels of wheat at
Southport, by J.G. Ransom, we learn by telegraph, sprung a leak on Saturday morning last and made sail for Chicago. She stranded outside and succeeded in getting off 3,000 bushels, leaving 3,000 bushels in the hold in a damaged state and 4,000 bushels unwet. At this stage of affairs the propeller TROY ran into her, causing the vessel to fill, by which the 4,000 bushels spoken of as being unwet were also damaged. The cargo we understand is fully insured.
