Three Bells (Schooner), aground, 10 Nov 1854

Description
Full Text

The wind blew very fresh on this lake, during Friday night and yesterday forenoon, and a large fleet of vessels arrived from Buffalo, and the lumber ports, but nearly all came in safely. The schooner THREE BELLS, with a cargo of railroad iron from Buffalo, attempted to enter the harbor, between 7 and 8 o'clock in the morning, but grounded off the bar near the North pier. By the aid of her canvass and hawsers, she got off after an hour's hard work, having experienced no damage, except chafing against the dock.-----Chicago Tribune
