Mayflower (Propeller), fire, 28 Feb 1853

On Thursday last at 5 o'clock, P.M., the propeller MAYFLOWER, lying at Chicago, was discovered to be on fire. Before the flames could be extinguished the steerage, where it originated, was entirely consumed. The loss is stated at $400.
