Tuesday night, shortly before 10:00 as the schr. DONALDSON, grain laden from Chicago, was coming down the bay in tow of the tug ANNA P. DORR, when a short distance from the breakwater she met the schr. E.P. DORR, coal laden for Detroit, bound out in tow of the small tug FULTON. Through some, at present, unexplained circumstances the two schooners collided, the DORR striking the DONALDSON on the bluff of the port bow, raking her clear from the bow to the cabin aft, carrying away her fore rigging, all her lanyards on the port side, chain plates and main, and monkey rail, also breaking 2 plamks below the plankshear, and damaging her cabin. The injury to the DORR consisted of a
jibboom carried away close to the cap, and a broken stem and bob-stays, which necessitated her return to port for repairs. The repairs to the DONALDSON will probably foot up close on $600.
