The tug boat JOHN MAHAR caught fire about 9:15 Sunday night while
moored at Taylor and Crate's lumber dock at the foot of Austing St. The
fire started around the furnace and before the fire department arrived the
whole cabin was destroyed.
      The JOHN MAHAR is owned by Philip Mago of Tonawanda. The damage is
estimated at about $800. It is covered by insurance.
