ACCIDENT TO A SEAMAN. - Edward W. Hilt, a sailor on the steam barge DESPATCH, met with a serious accident at Chicago, Monday afternoon. He was engaged in "snubbing" the vessel, when his right foot became entangled in the line he was using, and was almost instantly severed. Hilt is a resident if Janesville, Wisconsin.
