Description
Full Text

Quite a serious collision between the schr. SAN JACINTO and LAKE FOREST occurred Saturday night. The SAN JACINTO was being towed in by the tug WARD, and when about a mile off the harbor the schr. LAKE FOREST, outward bound, ran in between the tug and the vessel it had in tow, and the result was a serious collision between the 2 schooners. The SAN JACINTO lost her bobstays and jibboom, and the LAKE FOREST was cut down near the water's edge and had her forerigging carried away. It is claimed that the LAKE FOREST is to blame for the disaster and that she had no lights up when the collision occurred. - Chicago Tribune.
