The steambarge CHENANGO, grain laden from Toledo to Buffalo, took fire when off Erie Friday night and now lies in 4 fathoms of water a mile and 3/4 noth of the harbor entrance.

The CHENANGO, burned and sunk off Erie, is to be raised by the underwriters.

      Wrecker McMoran of Port Huron has offered to raise the burned CHENANGO for $15,000. The underwriters think the price too steep and will ask for a better figure.
