Late on Monday night, while the canal boat BOARD OF TRADE, was towing in the South Branch, the tug CONSTITUTION going along light, ran into her, cutting into her several feet. That the cook (the captain's wife, we believe,) was not killed, is one of the greatest wonders in the world. She was asleep in the cabin, and almost the entire cabin, was reduced to splinters. As it was, happily, the woman did not receive a scratch. When the tug backed out her screams were heard, and she was rescued through the opening made by the collision. The accident occurred at Polk Street bridge.
